Stay alert

Never accept help from strangers at an ATM. If you’re having difficulty with the transaction or your card becomes stuck, stop what you’re doing and contact your card provider straightaway. Find another ATM if the one you want to use has a sign or message attached to the screen or over the card reader stating that directions have changed. Banks and ATM owners won’t put up messages telling you to use a specific ATM or direct you to use an ATM which has been altered.

Memorise your PIN

Do not write your PIN down or keep it in your wallet or purse and do not give it to anyone. If you think it may have been compromised, please contact us immediately.

Change your PIN

Each debit and credit card should have a unique PIN. If you have multiple cards with the same PIN, or you think your PIN has been compromised, we recommend you change your PIN immediately.

Put your card and cash away

After completing your transaction, secure your card and cash immediately before exiting the ATM area.

Treat your card like cash

Always protect your card by keeping it in a safe place. If your card is lost or stolen, contact us immediately.

Protect your details

When entering your PIN, shield the ATM keypad with your hand or body. Keep your transaction record so you can compare it to your monthly statement.

Report suspicious behaviour

Report all crimes immediately to law enforcement officials, ATM owners and Health Professionals Bank.

Request emergency assistance

If you need emergency assistance, call 000.

Overseas ATMs

Always use ATMs in busy areas. Stay alert and do not accept assistance from anyone. Remember to remove your card from the machine.
