Win at a Mobile Office 2020—Competition terms and conditions

In these terms and conditions, “the Bank’’, “we”, “us” and “our” means Teachers Mutual Bank Limited.

Duration

The competition commences at 9am AEDT on 24 February 2020 and closes at 5pm AEDT on 11 December 2020.

Method of entry

Entry is made by completing the “Win at a Mobile Office” form and placing it into the entry box displayed at any of the Bank’s Mobile Office functions held in NSW, ACT, Qld, WA, Vic and NT during the above competition period.

Entries are limited to one per person at each function attended.

Eligibility

Those eligible to enter must be at least 18 years of age and be members of the Bank or non-members eligible to join under the Constitution of the Bank, who attend a Mobile Office function held between 24 February 2020 and 11 December 2020.

Membership eligibility criteria applies to join the Bank. For non-members who would like to enter into the competition, please check if you meet Bank’s eligibility criteria for joining. Please speak to a Bank representative at the function to check if you are eligible to join.

The following are not eligible to enter:

  • Directors of the Bank
  • Members of the Bank’s Members Committee
  • Employees of the Bank
  • Family members (spouse, de-facto, parent, grandparent, child, stepchild, grandchild, brother or sister) of any of the above.

Prize details

At each Mobile Office function, one (1) x $100 cash prize and four (4) x lucky door prizes up to the value of $100 each will be drawn by a Bank Business Relationship Manager. The $100 cash prize will be deposited into the winner’s savings account1 held with the Bank. If the winner is not currently a member, he/she is required to become a member of the Bank within three (3) months of prize draw to claim the prize.

At the end of the year (2020), two (2) prizes will be drawn from all the entries made between 24 February 2020 and 11 December 2020.

Each prize consists of a $1,000 travel gift voucher redeemable at Tertiary Travel Service2 (ABN 63 010 167 503). The vouchers remain valid for a year starting from the date of issue. The gift vouchers may be redeemed at Tertiary Travel to pay for travel expenses. If the travel cost exceeds $1,000, the voucher can be used towards the total cost.

The prize(s) are not transferable and not redeemable for cash. Please note that a tax liability may arise with regard to a prize payable in connection with any investment account you have with us. 

You do not have to provide us with your TFN, but we are obliged to withhold tax at the highest marginal rate (plus the Medicare levy) from any cash prize if we do not have your TFN. Please seek your own advice if you are uncertain as to any aspect of these issues.

Draw details

One (1) x $100 cash prize will be drawn from a barrel by one of the Bank’s Business Relationship Managers at each Mobile Office function and the winner’s name announced immediately. The winner does not need to be in attendance to win the prize.

Four (4) x lucky door prizes up to the value of $100 each will be drawn from a barrel by one of the Bank’s Business Relationships Managers or a nominee at each Mobile Office function. The winner must be in attendance to win a lucky door prize, otherwise the prize will be redrawn at that event.

Winners have (four) 4 minutes to claim their prize before a redraw occurs.

From every entry form submitted at functions held between 24 February 2020 and 11 December 2020, two (2) x $1,000 travel gift vouchers will be drawn from a barrel by one the Bank’s Business Relationships Manager at 10am AEDT on Monday 14 December 2020 at Teachers Mutual Bank Limited Head Office (28-38 Powell Street Homebush West NSW 2140).

Winner notification

At each Mobile Office function, one (1) x $100 cash prize and four (4) x lucky door prizes up to the value of $100 each will be drawn by one the Bank’s Business Relationship Manager and their names will be announced at the event immediately. The winners of the $100 cash prizes will be published on our website.

The winners of the travel gift vouchers will be notified by telephone and in writing on Monday 14 December 2020. The winners’ names will be published in the public notices section of The Australian newspaper on Thursday 17 December 2020 and on our website.

Unclaimed prizes

If the $1,000 travel gift vouchers and any $100 cash prizes are unclaimed, they will be redrawn on Monday 15 March 2021 at 10am AEDT at the Bank at 28-38 Powell Street Homebush West NSW 2140, subject to any direction given under applicable law.

The winners will be notified by telephone and in writing on Tuesday 16 March 2021. The winners’ names will be published in the public notices section of The Australian newspaper on Tuesday 23 March 2021 and on our website.

Promoter’s details

The promoter is Teachers Mutual Bank Limited, ABN 30 087 650 459 AFSL/Australian Credit Licence No 238981, 28-38 Powell Street, Homebush NSW 2140.

Winner’s consent for promotion

In the event they are winners, entrants must consent to the promoter using their name and photographs in any media for an unlimited period of time for the purpose of promoting, publicising or marketing this promotion and promoting any products and services by the promoter.

Indemnity and disclaimer

You agree to release and indemnify the Bank and its agents and employees from and against, all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of acceptance of any prize or participation in the competition including (but not limited to) loss of income, personal injury, damage to property and whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.

The Bank is not responsible or liable:

  • if for any reason beyond the Bank’s reasonable control any element of any prize is not provided.
    The Bank, in its absolute discretion, may substitute a different prize in place of any prize referred to
    in these terms and conditions
  • if, for any reason, the competition is suspended, varied or terminated at any time, with or without
    prior warning or publicity
  • for late, lost or misdirected entries
  • for any change in the value of a prize occurring between the publishing date and the date the prize
    is claimed.

All entries become the property of the Bank.

The Bank has the rights to exclude any person from this competition for any reason whatsoever and to amend these terms and conditions at any time or cancel the competition subject to state regulation.

Providing personal information about you to overseas recipients:

Depending on our commercial arrangements, we may disclose personal information about you to business partners with operations overseas. If we do so, we will ensure that personal information about you is handled and kept secure in the same way as it is in Australia.
